In Jan. 1996, I was born at 2 lb 6.5 ounces and by all accounts, probably shouldn't have made it through the month...Yet here I am, about to run my first half marathon at the age of 23. Every day NICUs like that of the Phoenix Children's Hospital are changing lives and making families whole. No single baby, family, or community makes it out the same coming out of the NICU, but it's for those that can that we continue to fight. We make strides with hopes that we will have one less heart breaking story to tell. For some, rainbows after storms.
The money we raise here will not only help the life of a current (and future) NICU baby - it will allow virtual visits where parents can see their baby from a live stream to ease some of the suffering as the world seems to move on as theirs sits quietly in carefully monitored in an incubator. This provides the equipment needed for medical advance with the hopes that no parent should leave those halls with empty arms.
Any donation big or small takes us on step closer and as every NICU family know, every step is a small miracle.
